ABOUT FOUNDER
Kajal Singh, the visionary founder behind Piku, carries a unique blend of academic knowledge and a deep cultural heritage, both of which greatly influenced her journey into the world of luxury fashion. Raised in a family deeply rooted in tradition, Kajal developed a fascination for textiles and artistry from an early age, She completed her graduation at Banaras Hindu University, one of India’s most prestigious institutions. Immersed in the rich cultural atmosphere of the city, She developed a profound appreciation for traditional crafts, particularly the artistry of silk weaving that Varanasi is celebrated for.
Pursuing her love for cultural narratives, Kajal continued her studies with a master’s in Tourism Administration from Rewa APS University. This program allowed her to explore India's diverse artistic traditions, enhancing her understanding of how art, culture, and heritage intersect. With a deep-rooted desire to share these timeless crafts, she envisioned a brand that would honor the beauty and legacy of Indian textiles, while also presenting them in a way that felt modern and accessible to a global audience.
Thus, Piku was born—an online brand dedicated to celebrating the elegance of handwoven silk dupattas. Through Piku, Kajal strives to weave together stories of heritage and modern design, bridging the past and the present in every piece. Her passion for both preserving and innovating with Indian craftsmanship has made Piku a brand that resonates with customers who value quality, tradition, and the authenticity of handmade artistry.
Today, Kajal’s brand, Piku, stands as a celebration of her journey—from her formative years in Banaras to her professional growth in tourism—allowing her to honor her roots while sharing them with the world.
